World Freestyle Championship

The International Baton Twirling Federation (IBTF) holds the World Freestyle Championship in even-numbered years. It includes the disciplines of Freestyle Solo, Rhythmic Twirl, Freestyle Pair, and Freestyle Team.

The 2026 World Freestyle Championship will be held in August 2026 in Paris, France. The athletes who will represent the U.S. at that event will be selected at the U.S. Trials in March 2026.

World Technical Baton Twirling Championship, World Majorettes Championship, and Nations Cup

The World Technical Baton Twirling Championship (for elite level athletes) and the Nations Cup competition (for A and B level athletes) offer the disciplines of Solo, 2-Baton, 3-Baton, Artistic Twirl, X-Strut, Duet, Artistic Pair, Artistic Team, Artistic Group, Twirl Team, DanceTwirl Team, and Twirling Corps. Those IBTF events are held in odd-numbered years, as is the World Majorettes Championship, which offers a variety of corps disciplines.

IBTF has not yet announced the location of the 2027 World Technical Baton Twirling Championship, World Majorettes Championship, and Nations Cup. The U.S. Qualifier for those events will be held at the 2026 U.S. National Baton Twirling Championships in July 2026 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
