The members of this committee have national and international experience in coaching and / or judging baton twirling, and share a common goal: To serve U.S. athletes, parents, coaches, and judges who aspire to reach the highest levels of the sport of baton twirling through international competition.

![]() Tammy Albrecht is the director of Limited Edition Baton Corps in Brighton, Mich., which she founded in 1993. In June, she joined the Mideast Regional Board, to become more involved within the baton twirling community. Albrecht is a licensed NBTA judge and serves as a judge for other regional organizations. Under her direction, both her teams and soloists have achieved success across multiple twirling organizations. This past summer, Limited Edition earned gold, silver, and bronze medals at the IBTF World Majorettes Championship. With over 45 years of teaching experience, Albrecht continues to share her passion for the sport—now alongside her daughter, Shaelyn, who is also a coach. She finds great joy in choreographing team and individual routines for athletes of all levels. ![]() Kayli Mickey-McIntosh, native Texan and twirling coach for the University of Houston (Go Coogs!), has been teaching baton twirling for 20 years. Her students have won various titles in USTA, NBTA, and AAU. Before coaching full time, Mickey-McIntosh was the feature twirler, known as “The Doll,” for Southern Methodist University from 2008-2013, and has won several regional, state, and national awards. Mickey-McIntosh has more than 10 years of corporate experience, serving as an internal media project manager, social media manager, and chief of staff for a senior vice president at AT&T. ![]() Kelli Russell brings a wealth of experience from multiple perspectives—as a competitive athlete, a mother and coach of two high-level athletes, and a dedicated judge and coach with over 50 years in the sport. She has judged at two WFNBTA World Championships, and her teams and individual athletes have earned numerous titles and awards at state, national, and international levels. Russell’s extensive background spans both WFNBTA and WBTF organizations, giving her a well-rounded understanding of what is required to support and advance the sport of baton twirling from every angle. She is honored to serve on the International Technical Committee and is deeply committed to helping the sport continue to grow, providing the best possible opportunities for athletes, parents, and coaches alike. |
![]() Jonathan Burkin is an internationally recognized coach, performer, and choreographer known for his artistry, precision, and passion for excellence in baton twirling and performance. A decorated athlete, Burkin is a WBTF and WFNBTA Gold Medalist in Senior Pairs, Men’s Solo, 2-Baton, Duet, and Rhythmic Twirl. His main interests lie in the success of the United States as a global powerhouse and our return to the top of the podium. Burkin looks forward to the future success of USA Baton Twirling and creating opportunities for twirlers from across the country to represent the United States internationally. ![]() Alaine Robbins is a dedicated and accomplished elite level coach of state, regional, national and international champions. She is recognized for fostering athletic excellence, discipline, and teamwork, while building confidence and lifelong skills in athletes. Robbins specializes in breaking down concepts for children of all ages and levels, on how to coordinate the baton and body utilizing proper and technical Kinesiology. She approaches coaching by encouraging athletes’ belief in themselves and how hard work yields results while enjoying a journey that will impact all aspects of their life. Robbins holds master’s degrees in sports psychology/exercise physiology and health/physical education. She has been a member of the U.S. World Team / International Cup Team more than 20 times. ![]() Sandi Rios is the USA Baton Twirling International Technical Advisor and the founder and coach of Syndication Baton Club. A master judge, clinician, and certified coach, she has trained numerous individual state, regional, national, and international champions. Under her leadership, several of her athletes have medalled at the World Baton Twirling Federation Championships. Rios has also served on several international committees, contributing to the development of content restrictions, the WBTF/IBTF Coaches Education and Certification programs, and the DanceTwirl Team event concept and judging system. Her ongoing goals are to continue striving for Olympic sport recognition for baton twirling and to foster growth within the United States to help athletes achieve podium success on the world stage. She was inducted into the U.S. Twirling Association Hall of Fame in 2024. |
