About USA Baton Twirling
In 2024, after a comprehensive application and evaluation process, the International Baton Twirling Federation (IBTF) selected the United States Twirling Association (USTA) as the U.S. federation or representative to the IBTF, responsible for holding qualifying events for all IBTF international events. In 2025, per IBTF requirements, USTA formed USA Baton Twirling, a “doing business as” entity to serve U.S athletes, parents, coaches, and judges who aspire to reach the highest levels of the sport of baton twirling through international competition.
USA Baton Twirling holds two U.S. Qualifying Events: the U.S. Trials to select the athletes who will represent the U.S. in the World Freestyle Championship, and the U.S. IBTF Qualifier, to select the U.S. athletes who will represent our nation at the World Technical Baton Twirling Championship, World Majorettes Championship, and the Nations Cup competition. Learn more about U.S. Qualifying Events here.
The USA Baton Twirling International Technical Committee, made up of twirling professionals from across the country, is responsible for all aspects of U.S. Qualifying Events, including:
- U.S. IBTF Policies, Procedures, and Rulebook
- U.S. Trials/Qualifiers
